Electrical Engineering Department

The Electrical Department was the first department of the Institute established in 1938 offering Dip. Tech Electrical course. The department now conducts Diploma programme in Electrical Engineering since 1958.

  • The department consists of dedicated and qualified staff, as per AICTE norms.
  • The staff members are the members of various professional bodies like ISTE, IEI etc.
  • The department comprises of well equipped laboratories like,
    Electrical Machines, Electrical Measurements, Power systems, Instrumentation, Elect. Workshop, Programmable Logic Controller etc.

Education is a process of learning and acquiring knowledge. Our teachers are the key to this process, they believe in each student's capabilities and facilitate them to explore, understand and therefore learn.

In Electrical Engineering Department of CWIT, we take immense pride in providing highest quality of education by paying utmost importance to teaching quality and practical learning.

Our excellence is not just confined to the classroom; we are active in organizing hands on training workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. These activities and educational methodology helps in an overall development in our students, making them competent and industry ready.

We also take great pride in our excellent infrastructure and have ensured that the best of the technologies be incorporated in teaching learning process. We aspire to reach to a higher horizon, a horizon at which we are recognized at the national and the international levels .

Vision : To develop electrical professionals with technical competency, high socio-ethical values to serve industry and society.

Mission :

M1: To impart latest theoretical knowledge and practical skills by adopting innovative technique

M2 : To update and upgrade the learning resources in association with stake holders to achieve lifelong learning

M3: To inculcate students with leadership qualities, environmental, social and ethical responsibilities.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):

 

PEO 1: To apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and electrical engineering fundamentals to analyze and solve problems in electrical domains.

PEO 2: To acquire adequate technical skills and abilities to communicate and work effectively in multidisciplinary environment individually and in a team.

PEO 3: To exhibit professional and ethical attitude, leadership qualities, good marketing skills and entrepreneurial talents to serve the nation.

 

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

PSO1: Able to apply principles of electrical engineering and laboratory skills for testing operation and maintenance of electrical equipments /systems.

PSO2: Able to select estimate and interpret data for physical systems, components or processes related to electrical engineering systems.

PSO3: Able to apply the knowledge of electrical systems to work professionally in a team or to lead a team.
